With little time to do much else, I decided to pick up some new digital torque wrenches from Craftsman. I got one in 3/8 and one in 1/2 drive and they are my new favorite tools.

Oh man, I did not intend for it to be some sort of misdirection click bait, my bad.

I just intended to show how they work and how they are different than the old types .

Beam style always accurate. Just bend it till you are satisfied :P

Yeah I guess this is more like “how to use them” than “how they work”...

Those digital torque wrenches are pretty sweet though. Every once in a while I think about getting one, but I fear that it wouldn’t get used frequently enough and I’d end up with dead batteries that would interrupt my work. That’s been my experience with digital calipers and dial indicators.

Speaking of batteries, I had this Vizio TV I bought back in 2007 same batteries in the remote and only needed to replace them this week. TV is used daily everyday since 2007 (unless on vacation etc.), I only noticed it was the same batteries because they were Vizio branded batteries that came with the TV.
Idk what quality standards those batteries were made in, but working for 13 years daily it was a freak battery set.

I only trust wheel lug nuts with that wrench, something that +/- 10 wont matter haha

My wheels would probably thank me if I sprung for one of these.

Good video, very useful info. I should get a torque wrench, I don’t have one yet. For now the cheaper clicker would be for me.

For now I just use a pipe extender to screw the nuts in as hard as I can and then take the car to a tire shop just down the road from me to just torque them up.2

Yeah, I’d love to have a fancy digital one, but it’s hard to justify that sort of money when my Harbor Freights ones cost ~$12 or something. Granted I wouldn’t trust them to be especially precise but I figure for most things, extreme precision isn’t needed.
